Weekend project: corner bookshelf
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Mine was super productive, as I finally got to complete another section of my bedroom :D
For a while I had no idea what to put in that corner – it was too narrow for a dresser or a desk, but too wide for a floor lamp or a plant. When I finally decided to put a bookshelf there, I then took forever deciding on the style of the shelf
Initially I wanted the Hemnes Glass-door Cabinet from Ikea, but it looked really flimsy in person, so that was a bust. Long story short, I finally ended up with the shelf I had :D
For me this was less of a functional bookshelf, and more of a display shelf that also happened to fit books/magazines.
Of course, picture frames are a must when decorating shelves – they add dimension and personal touch. I specifically chose silver frames to keep with the color scheme of my room.
Since I’m not trying to fill up the shelves with books, I only keep a couple I actually read (the rest are in another bookcase downstairs). Falling Leaves has been one of my favorite books since I was 11 – highly recommend if you haven’t read it yet! The purse was handmade by my mommy :) It was too cute to not put on display!
I felt bad for my LV just sitting in my closet, so I thought it’d be nice to put it on display, along with more random knick-knacks I have :) And of course, whatever empty space I had I used to display my stuffed animals. I felt bad for those as well, since they were also sitting in my closet…in a trash bag :(
