As travelers, our time is not always enough for our trips. Because there’s so much more places to explore and many more fun things to do. That’s why we’re always eager to go back to a place just to complete our bucket lists.
Although sometimes, there are places that are so majestic and memorable that we want to go back there just because we can’t get enough of it. Like second and third times always feel like the first. One of those places is Palm Cove.
Palm Cove is a paradise ideally located on the coastline of northern Queensland. It’s peppered with century-old trees and surrounded by stunning white-sand beaches. It’s also famous for its relaxed atmosphere and great weather that are perfect for summer getaways!
So if you’re planning to go on a trip to Queensland, make sure to include Palm Cove in your bucket list. There are a ton of fun activities to do there whether you’re visiting just for the day or staying for the whole week! Here only some of our favourites:
Go Underwater at the Great Barrier Reef
Palm Cove is one of the best jump-off points if you’re heading to the Great Barrier Reef. You can sail to the World Heritage-listed attraction via day cruise and this will bring you to the activity platform of the reef. There you can dive or snorkel to see the world-famous reefs and marine life up close and personal.
But if you’re too afraid of the water, you can still appreciate the rich life under the sea through the glass panel at the bottom of your boats! It’s a great option if you have kids who are also scared of the water.
Meet Our Furry and Feathery Neighbours from the Wild
The wildlife parks in Palm Cove are certainly a must-try! You can meet and greet the Australian furry icons and even take a selfie with them at the Koala Gardens. Watch out though, because the cuteness overload of these koalas can be really heart-melting that you wouldn’t want to leave anymore!
But if you like birds more than koalas, then a trip to the Birdworld Kundara is your cup of tea. You can walk around the park where 60+ species of birds fly around above you. Next thing you know, a cheeky macaw is already hitching a ride on your shoulder!
Loosen Up at the Reef House
With all those exploration and photo ops on the side, there’s no doubt you’ll run out of energy by the end of the day. Good thing, you can relax a bit after a long day of fun at the Reef House.
Reef House is a boutique colonial style of accommodation that offers award-winning spa services. You can have your muscles stretched and your energy replenished there so your body is prepared to take all the activities the next day.
If you’re on a honeymoon with your hubby, you can try their couple’s massage! It’s an invigorating massage session to perfectly cap-off your special holiday!
Hop on a Vintage Train and Sky-High Gondolas
We’re telling you, once you’ve jumped on a train at the Kuranda Scenic Railway, you’ll never ride the train the same way again.
Kuranda Scenic Railway is a 120-year old full-functioning railway that will drive you through the rainforest until you reach the village of Kuranda. They always say, it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. But this time around, the journey and the destination are equally worth it. Who wouldn’t be charmed by a vintage train, the rainforests and a lively village, right?
But the fun doesn’t stop there! At the village, another one heck of a ride awaits you! You can fly over the canopy of the trees in the rainforest via the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway! If you’re not afraid of heights then the weather-proof gondolas of the Cableway is one great way to take your trip to a higher level, literally.
Whether you’re a first timer or a seasoned traveller in Queensland, you’ll definitely love Palm Cove. There’s a reason why thousands of tourists go back here every year! And it’s simply because Palm Cove is always worth the trip. So if you’re planning an escapade for summer, then put the Cove on top of your list! We promise you, you won’t regret a thing.
