We all have dreams and aspirations, for some it’s climbing that career ladder as quickly as possible, for others its meeting someone they want to spend the rest of their life with and start a family. But did you know that more and more people are deciding to prioritise seeing the rest of the world, before they settle down or decide what they want to do in life.
Whether you want to travel the world, or just explore the length and breadth of your home country, hitting the road can be an expensive decision. Saving money from your job is the perfect place to start, and if you have relatives that can help you out financially – either with an investment or nest egg they can cash in to help boost your savings, that will certainly help. Golden Eagle Coins is the perfect place to get the latest information on investment pieces and up to the minute advice, check them out if you’re looking to make an investment for your future.
But are there any other ways you can save money on your travelling adventures? Check out our 4 simple tips!
Cut back on your coffee habit
We all enjoy a caffeine boost in the morning. But this little necessity could be costing you a bundle! Coffee – particularly the coffee from high street coffeeshop chains can be expensive and enjoying a fancy latte or morning coffee every day of the month adds up! Instead of hitting the high street before work, brew your own coffee and home and take it to work in a reusable coffee mug instead.
Cancel that gym membership
Gym memberships are something we sign up to with good intentions but don’t usually get out moneys worth from. Unless you’re really into your fitness, chances are the money could be better spent elsewhere! Cancel that gym membership and put the money you’re saving into your travelling fund. If you enjoy a workout but don’t want the fees, then try some workout videos online at home or go for a jog in the great outdoors.
Reassess your TV subscription packages
There’s a lot of great TV out there at the moment. With lots of box sets to keep us busy for months on end and plenty of catch up services available so we don’t miss out favourite shows. The question is, do you really need all of them? We all probably have more than one subscription service, but you need to evaluate whether or not you’re getting your monies worth. Remember, if you’re heading abroad for several months, you won’t be watching TV!
Staying in is the new going out
You know what its like: you go out for one drink and suddenly you’re buying rounds of drinks and heading to all the best night spots in the city. Going out is expensive, so while you’re saving for your travelling adventure, opt for nights in instead. Recreate your favourite takeaway (another way to save money) and buy a couple of bottles of wine instead! Invite the girls round for a movie night and you can even stay in your PJs!
