My recent obsession? Shopping for preowned designer pieces. Before when I think of preowned I think of dirty, old, and smelly – basically trash. Turns out I was just didn’t know where or how to shop. The my friend introduced me my first consignment store – Reddz Trading. Reddz is just a 5 minute walk away from where I work, and they sell preowned designer clothes, shoes, and accessories in good to pristine condition. Think of brands you find in Nordstrom or Saks 5th Avenue, and you’ll probably find it here. They have an excellent variety of items, and I’ve always been able to score at least 1 item every time I visit:
I’m obsessed with blazers, so you can imagine my excitement when I found not 1, but 2 blazers that fit well AND had such great prices. Trust me they look much better in person than on a hanger.
If there’s one luxury brand I love, it’s Chanel. Obviously I was ecstatic when I saw this beautiful silk blouse and had to buy it right away. The crazy thing is this is the same amount I would’ve paid in Banana Republic for new polyester blouse. Except this is Chanel.
To feed my bag obsession, eBay is my go-to source. Yes there are a lot of fakes out there, but thanks to the lovely ladies at PurseForum, I’ve been able to bid with confidence. The latest addition to my collection came all the way from Japan:
Can you believe that this cost around the same as a Coach bag from the outlet? With prices like these, there’s very little reason for me to spend $$$$ in retail stores. As a matter of fact, since my LV Alma BB, all the rest of my bags have been preowned pieces :)
For anyone interested in purchasing preowned items, I’ve put together a guide of sellers/stores I’ve had good experiences with. Have any of you bought second hand items before? What were your experiences like?
