Planning my office/craft room
Ever since we moved we’ve been wondering what to do with the small 4th bedroom upstairs. I’ve been debating between turning it into my new walk-in closet, beauty room, or office, but none of them seemed very compelling to me. Then I really got into planners and crafts lately, and I realized that I really wanted my own office/craft room!
Honestly this office will the one room in the entire house where I can have everything I want, my way. Granted I made most of the decor decisions for the home, but it was always with my fiance’s approval. It’s nice to have a space that is 100% me :)
If you can’t tell already, I love the white + gold combination. I envision my office with sleek modern furniture, with a bold colors and textures on the accessories, and plenty of storage space for my craft supplies. With these criteria in mind, IKEA was the first store that came to mind, and they have plenty of affordable and chic options!
You know how I’m obsessed with Oliver Gal’s artwork, so naturally I’ll be selecting one of their pieces for my office. Just not sure which one yet because they have so many I like! I’ll also be scouring places like Joss & Main and my local HomeGoods for accent furnitures and fun accessories that will match my vision for the space. I’ve been keeping a Pinterest board of office decor just to help me store ideas and styles I like:
Another tool I’ve been using in my planning process is the Plan Your Room tool on PBTeen. This helps me visualize the space and figure out what I can and can’t fit in the room. This is important when you’re working with a small room, as you don’t want to end up with furniture that’s too big and making the room look even smaller.
We’re actually heading out to Ikea later today, as I’m more than ready to set this office up! So excited to have own personal space in the house!
