Out of boredom, curiousity, and want to bond with a certain friend, I started watching the first season of Gossip Girl. What can I say, I absolutely love the show. I don’t know if it’s the fashion in there that’s making me adore it or the actual plot and characters, but I love it nonetheless. I especially love Blair’s character, maybe because I see a bit of myself in her. Well, maybe more than a bit. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing though. :/
I know it’s Monday, so that means a new batch of songs should be up for download. However, I’m feeling lazy, and I really wanted to share this with you guys.
I was planning on posting anything, but for some reason I felt strongly to write my opinion about religious groups, especially Christians, that try to spread their beliefs to others. The reason being is that I read a post that Regina wrote about inappropriate conversion, and though I agree with them on some parts, I find myself standing up for these accused Christians. Now the girl who wrote the post on inappropriate conversion was a Muslim, and when the Christian group tried to convert her at an Arabic festival, I can see why she was annoyed (and amused) at the […]
I’m finally done with exams! You have no idea how absolutely relieved I am to be free of the burden, and it sucks even more because UMD is one of the last schools to get out. Nonetheless, it’s all over now, and I can peacefully enjoy the rest of my summer and fully look forward to going back to Taiwan!
There were a few occasions in Brazil when I served as a translator for an English speaker. He stood before the audience, complete with the message. I stood at his side, equipped with the language. My job was to convey his story to the listeners. I did my best to allow his words to come through me. I was not at liberty to embellish or subtract. When the speaker gestured, I gestured. As his volume increased, so did mine. When he got quiet, I did, too. When he walked this earth, Jesus was translating for God all the time. When […]
Have you ever done an experiment in science class where you hooked a potato to some wires and the electrical current flowed through the vegetable as if it was a wire? Ok, now if you did the same experiment with a pickle, it’d glow. Yes, the pickle would shine. My point is that if God can make a pickle shine and light up a dark room, how much more can He do through His children? We just need to learn from the pickle. Yes, even an insignificant vegetable can teach us a valuable lesson. Now the pickle didn’t glow by […]
..lies not in popularity, cute guys, money, fame, power, or even my family and friend. My life, strength, and hope lies in Christ, and Christ alone. I was just talking to a childhood friend, and she told me how she’s been feeling extremely sick lately. I’m worried to death, because I knew she’s been under a lot of stress since going into college. Moreover, I sensed that she wasn’t as close to God as she was before (well, she did tell me she hadn’t been doing her quiet time). So when she told me about her health and how there […]
Often times we don’t give because we’re afraid. We’re afraid we might get hurt, might be used, might be scorned at, and the list could go on and on. Yet 1 John 4:18 says There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear. How much more should we Christians love others by giving, just like how our Savior gave His very life for us. Many times we think we aren’t rich, thus have nothing to give. But greatest gifts are often gifts that money can’t buy: the gift of a helping hand, a hug, or of an […]
