The search for my perfect daily planner
As much as I love my phone and can’t live with it, I’ve never been able to use it as my daily planner/agenda. I’ve tried all the apps – Wunderlist, Any.do, Reminder, etc – and I still prefer the old fashioned pen-and-paper way. With my new web design/development partnership growing AND my determination to turn this blog into something even bigger, I need a planner that can help me stay on top of it all!
Features I’m looking for: easy to carry, aethetically pleasing, versatility, and high-quality materials.
I’ve spent hours scouring the web, reading blog reviews and watching Youtube videos in search of the perfect planner, and here are the ones I’m considering:
- Kate Spade Agenda (Medium)
I’m a huge fan of Kate Spade’s designs – they’re so chic and fun! The inside pages are quite drab though, which was a huge disappointment. Some people have also complained about the quality of the planner – which makes me even more hesitant about this one. Still, LOVE the cover!!
- The Simplified Planner by Emily Ley
Very similar to the Day Designer, but bonus points to this one for different cover choices available. I did read that this one was even heavier than Day Designer, and the 2015 edition is not available until September 3 :( I don’t think I can wait another 5 months to get the planner!
- Lilly Pullitzer Agenda (Large)
I’ve used the small Lilly Pullitzer agendas before in college and I loved how colorful and fun the designs were. They usually rotate their designs each year, and sadly none of the ones for 2015 really thrill me. I’d also like a bit more space on the weekly agenda pages.
- Day Designer by Whitney English
I love that this planner was created specifically for the creative entrepreneur, and the elegant cover + page designs are right up my alley. If I wasn’t working 9-5 and ran my own business full time, I’d order this in a heartbeat. The larger size means that it will be harder to carry around though.
- Simple Journal Planner from MochiThings
There were so many cute planners to pick from there, but I really liked this one for because of the versatility. The pages are undated, which means that if I’m away on vacation for a week I don’t end up wasting the pages. The design also means I can setup my daily tasks/to-do list however I want without being restricted to writing them out a certain way.
Of course, I still can’t make up my mind, even after making this list, so it might be a while before I decide on one :( Do you guys use a planner? If so, I’d love to hear your recommendations!
