Review: Laura Ashley Coconut Lime Body Butter

I’ve been pretty disappointed with my recent BeautyBox5 subscription boxes lately, but this particular body butter caught my eye. I’ve always loved anything coconut scented, so I figured this might be something I would actually enjoy.

Findings

First off the name is misleading: the Laura Ashley Coconut Lime Body Butter doesn’t feel like your traditional body butter at all. Instead, it has a gel-like texture that feels even more lightweight than lotion. So if you’re looking for something super thick and rich, you will be disappointed. Otherwise, this “body butter” is absolutely divine and I love it!

The scent alone was enough to make me love this product – it’s the perfect balance of sweet coconut with the tanginess of lime – I could smell this all day! It’s not too strong and overbearing, yet it has enough lasting power that you’ll still be able to catch whiffs of the tropical scent hours later.

My favorite aspect of the Laura Ashley Coconut Lime Body Butter is the fact that it’s not a traditional body butter. I love the watery gel-like texture, which absorbs instantly into my skin. It feels refreshing, yet surprisingly nourishing at the same time, and it makes my skin really soft. This probably won’t be rich enough for the driest of winter days, but it’s perfect for the summer months when you need something light and hydrating.

I know I probably shouldn’t care so much about packaging, but I do, and the packaging for the Laura Ashley Coconut Lime Body Butter could be better. The twist lid is a bit difficult to close, and overall it just feels…cheap. Considering how luxurious the body butter (or should I say body gel?) feels, I had hoped the packaging would match that level.
