I actually love taking outfit of the day photos, but I always feel a little self-conscious posing in public. My previous OOTDs were all taken at home, but CityCenterDC had this beautiful promenade area with luxury boutiques and string lighting, so I couldn’t resist.
For me clothes are something you don’t have to spend much on at all, and you can still put together a great look – as long as you purchase the right pieces. More often than not, it’s always better to stick to classic silhouettes and neutral colors – they’re easy to match and the result always looks put together.
Fit and material are probably the 2 most important things to look for, which is why I still love shopping at Express. Their sizes are perfect for petite girls, and their blouses (as pictured) are super flattering for all forms.

I love these sandals from DSW – they have this great reptile embossed faux leather and the low block heels make them super comfortable to walk in. The nude colors also help elongate your legs, making you appear taller.
Honestly any bag would’ve worked well with this outfit because of the neutral palette, but this dainty wallet on chain from Saint Laurent is a perfect balance of sophistication and convenience. Despite its small size, it carries all my necessities, and it can double as a clutch thanks to the removable chain. FYI, if you have a Paris trip planned, get it there because the price difference is unreal.
As you can see, I’m a firm believer in investing in quality accessories, because they really can make your outfit look much more expensive than it actually is. Who would’ve guessed the top was $27 and the skirt was $19?
Anyways, hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know if you’re interested in seeing more outfit posts!
I feel the same way about taking OOTDs in public. I get so awkward, but I try to shake it off and realize that people don’t care that much, and if they do, it’s not like I know them.
I agree that fit is sooo important! It makes a huge difference in the way you look. I’ve started sending some of my clothes to the tailor, and it’s worth it. :D You look really great in your outfit! Looks much more expensive for sure!
Thank you Raisa! ?? That’s a great point! The people who matter won’t mind, and the people who mind don’t matter ?
I need to find an affordable tailor near me! I’ve returned/passed on so many pretty pieces because they don’t fit, but having it tailored would definitely change that ??
