Ok, I’m a couple days late, but a Happy New Year to you all! 2013 has been one heck of a year for me – I moved to an amazing new place, we started planning our wedding, and thanks to YOUR support, my blog has grown and I’ve been extended some amazing opportunities as a result.
So with all the awesomeness that 2013 brought, I’m hoping the streak continues and that 2014 will be just as amazing, if not more ;) We are going back to Taiwan this March to take our engagement photos, and then there’s the wedding in August, so that’s pretty awesome already. And no, it’s not possible to overuse the word “awesome” in this case :P
To celebrate the new year, I wanted to give this blog a new theme that was clean, feminine, and responsive. As such, a lot of extraneous sidebar content was removed, and I’ve switched from Disqus to the the Jetpack commenting system. Oh and a new logo that I might actually keep around for a while!
I was hoping to get it up in time by the 1st, but this was my first time working with Sass and Gridle (a responsive framework) so there definitely was a bit of a learning curve. Now that it is up, what do you all think?
I’ve also made several changes to the blog on the backend, mainly:
- removing plugins that were slowing down my site
- installing WP-Smush.it to automatically optimize my images
- installing W3 Total Cache to optimize all aspects of the site
Hopefully you will all enjoy the new and improved version of Geeky Posh. Cheers!
