Giving DHC a second chance
A while back I ordered the Renewing AHA Cream and Vitamin C Essence from DHC, and in a nutshell I was disappointed with and returned both products. Since then I haven’t considered ordering from them, until recently.
DHC reached out to me and asked if I would like to try some of their best-selling products: the Deep Cleansing Oil and Velvet Skin Coat. I’ve heard great things about both, so I was excited to try them out and see if I’d have better luck this time. To my surprise, the package also included a bonus night cream and lipstick!
- Deep Cleansing Oil – $28.00
I mentioned this in my facial oil post simply because it’s the #1 best selling makeup remover. After using it, I can confirm the reviews are true. This feels different from any other oil-based cleansers I’ve tried – it feels less oily and greasy, if that even makes sense. It does an amazing job of removing my everyday makeup, and I don’t feel the need to use a cleanser after this! It’s hard to go back to my old oil cleanser after using this.
- Velvet Skin Coat – $22.50
I actually tried a sample of this years ago and remember absolutely loving it. Tried the full sized product this time and yep, still love it! I love how smooth this makes my skin and how it minimizes any lines and pores. It makes my under-eye concealer so much easier to apply, and it helps my eye makeup stay on all day just as well as the UD Primer Potion.
- Q10 Cream – $49.00
This cream is very moisturizing, and surprisingly does not feel greasy on application. It absorbs very quickly and my face felt soft and supple afterwards. Sadly I think this cream is too rich for my skin because I woke up with super oily skin :( However I think those with mature or dry skin could really benefit from this.
- Premium Lipstick GE – $9.50
The packaging caught my eyes immediately – the gold/silver combination + floral details is just gorgeous! I really love the lipstick itself too – the color is a rich red and it goes on oh-so-smoothly. I’ve been using this everyday since I got it!
Needless to say this experience with DHC completely turned my opinion of their products around. Other than the Q10 cream, I see myself reordering all 3 other products in the future (or now for the lipstick!). Their prices are comparable to most department store counter brands, but if you take advantage of their frequent promotions the prices can be quite affordable. Plus if you subscribe to their catalog they always send free samples!
