Floral accessories, just in time for spring
Oh my goodness, it feels good to have Internet back! I’ve had so many post ideas planned during my Internet blackout/Comcast fiasco, and it sucked not being able to post them. Well, better late than never!
For this spring, I really want to add some floral pieces to my outfits. In the past I’ve never really owned anything floral (or really any jewelry in general, but my jewelry armoire changed that), so it was really nice to finally add some to my collection :D I avoided earrings just because I already have a lot, plus I couldn’t seem to find any spring-ish ones. However, I did find some really cute rings and necklaces!
I’ve been wearing rings with all my outfits lately, and so I was so glad to find these cute rings from Forever 21 for about $2 each! Ok, so florals don’t include bows, but they’re so dainty and elegant – perfect with my spring dresses! The black floral ring from Express was quite expensive, but I had a $10 gift card I needed to spend :/
Love, love, love this necklace! With the coming of warmer weather, I’ll be relying on necklaces instead of scarves to accessorize my plainer shirts and dresses. The gold metal is a plus, since most of my necklaces are silver.
I think the title of this post might be a bit misleading, since half of the accessories I hauled feature bows instead of flowers. But really, anything soft and feminine are great for spring in my opinion. The bow ones avoid the cliche “florals for spring” theme without looking out of place for the season.
But if you find the whole floral/bow thing to girly for your taste, the trick is to match them with more masculine or gender-neutral pieces. This not only offsets the girliness, but also creates contrast which will allow the accessories to stand out. But if you don’t mind the soft feminine look, floral accessories would go just as well with a flowy top or a cute dress.
What type of accessories or pieces will you be rocking this spring? Do share!
