Crafts haul from Michael’s and TJMaxx
As part of my search for the perfect planner, I’ve been watching a lot of youtube videos on how people organize and decorate theirs. Watching these videos not only gave me plenty of inspiration to decorate my planner, but also made me realize I much I miss DIY! Since I had some stuff to return anyways, I decided to visit Michael’s and see what new supplies I could pick up:
I don’t like Martha Stewart, but I am a fan of her craft supplies. I’ve never tried heat embossing before but it sounds simple enough and I do love the finished look of the technique :) Good thing I had a 50% off coupon, which made all these supplies pretty affordable.
I bought the alphabet rubber stamp set thinking it’d work with the stamp block in the heat embossing kit, but apparently you need a different system for that :( Guess I’ll either buy the system, or return the set. Let’s see if I can score a good deal again!
I was looking for cardstock to use as inserts/bookmarks for my planner, so I was ecstatic when I saw these journaling cards on clearance for $1.99 a pack! They’re the perfect size for inserts, and I definitely see myself using them for other crafts in the future!
If you follow me on Instagram, the above picture will probably look familiar to you :) Look how cute these cards are! Some of them are metallic and/or have glitter on them as well!
After we got back from Michael’s my fiance found out the shadow box he bought was the wrong size, so we went back again to a Michael’s closer to us. I spotted these 2 adorable stamp sets and thought they’d be perfect to use with the heat embossing kit. I swear I’m like a kid at a candy store every time I visit!
I was very excited to see craft supplies when I was at TJMaxx, and their prices were much lower too! Glue runners and glue guns aren’t exactly cute or glamorous, but they are necessities. They also had some super cute stationery there, but since I already bought some from Marshall’s a few days ago I had to restrain myself.
Needless to say, I’m super excited to start crafting! I’ll be posting my DIY notebook bookmark/insert tutorial soon, so stay tuned for that!
