Beauty favorites – spring/summer 2014 edition
Instead of doing a monthly beauty favorites, I’ve decided to do it every 3 months instead. After all, if it really was a favorite, I’m sure I’d be using it for more than 1 month. So for this edition, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite beauty products from the months of March, April, and May.
I prefer powder foundation when it gets warm because it just feels lighter and more breathable on my skin. The shaver mechanism on this is awesome because it prevents the powder from getting all over the place, and I only use as much product as I need. The coverage is on the lighter side, but definitely buildable.
Bella Pierre Makeup Base – $18.99
I received this in one of my Beauty Box 5, and I really like how well it conceals, brightens AND primes. This doesn’t crease at all, which is something I’ve struggled with other concealers. I wish it was a tad easier to blend, but minor details :)
Chantecaille Luminous Gloss (Fig) – $34
This was a sample I got in a wedding expo swag bag, and I absolutely love it. The color is super rich and really flattering. The staying power is also really great for a gloss, so this has been my go-to when I want red lips.
Neutrogena Brightening Eye Perfector – $12.99
I seriously can’t leave the house without concealing my under eye circles now :( I raved about this concealer before, and after trying several other products, this still does the best brightening job. If the Bella Pierre Makeup base was a jack of all trades, this is the king of brightening dark circles. The creamy texture makes this super easy to blend, and it doesn’t crease either.
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pink Transformer – $13~$20 on eBay
I love how this brightens my skin! I mix this with my daily sunscreen when I’m not wearing foundation for a nice glow, or I mix it with my foundation for an easier application and a dewy finish. A little goes a long way with this, and bonus points for the SPF 35!
This was in my last Ipsy Glam Bag, and it was love at first use! The particles are really fine, and my skin feels so much softer and smoother afterwards! It’s quite expensive, but a little goes a long way. I’ve been using the sample size 1~2x a week and I still have a lot left.
As I was writing this post, I felt like I was forgetting a product, and then it hit me: the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster! Good thing I already wrote a full post about how awesome it was ;)
Hope you enjoyed this post, and if you have any beauty products you’ve been loving, I’d love to hear about them!
