It’s not about how early you start, or the number of products, but learning what your skin needs and not blindly following trends.
I tried my first facial cleanser in my preteens and had a “routine” for years, but it wasn’t until my mid 20’s when I realized that I had no idea what I was doing. I was clueless in how to deal with my dark spots, dullness, and rough texture and the “information” I found back then was either way too basic or too complex. They didn’t seem trustworthy either – anyone can make claims, I want to see the evidence!
So I started my blog to share not just my own trials and errors (and trust me there were a lot of errors), but also the skincare knowledge I’ve learned from peer researched papers and healthcare professionals.
My goal is to be thorough but also simple enough so any skincare newbie can feel confident in building an effective and efficient skincare routine!

“It’s said that a wise person learns from his mistakes. A wiser one learns from others’ mistakes. But the wisest person of all learns from others’ successes.” –John C. Maxwell

For years health was something I took for granted, even after I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and Grave’s Disease at 16. Sure I was lightheaded all the time and my period stopped completely before the diagnosis, but after taking my medications the symptoms went away and I felt “healthy” again.
But 15 years and a partial thyroidectomy later, I started noticing the symptoms: the frequent but unexplained nausea, the extremely painful cramps during my period and random ones after, brain fog, inability to concentrate, and um, digestive issues (I’ll spare you the details).
Wanting to get to the bottom of it all, I started seeking medical help: family doctor, ob-gyn, endocrinologist, reproductive endocrinologist, countless lab tests and ultrasounds, and a laparoscopy later, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis, Hypothyroidism, and Hashimoto’s.
I was aware my own history of autoimmune disease and my family’s health history of uterine fibroids and ovarian cancer, yet I did nothing to prevent my health from heading down the same trajectory. I didn’t learn from my own or my family’s illnesses.
But I’m learning now, and I’d love to invite you on this journey with me.
