This was a great guide and particularly as I’ve only ever heard of two of them! I recently used Meitu on an Instagram photo to add sparkles to the skirt and loved the outcome :)

I just enhance my pictures and post. I need to get these apps and learn to edit my photos. The foodie app filters look lovely. Thanks for sharing. I am learning so much. :-)

These apps are next level! I currently only use snapseed, but I would really benefit from those compositions and posing guides.

  9. I haven’t tried any of these apps! I usually use Colorstory, Over and Unum but haven’t deviate from those in the past year. I didn’t know you could get apps to help you with poses and composition, so helpful as I’m useless at anything other than flatlays. Great post Jenny, thank you xx

  10. The only one of these I’ve used is Foodie and I take very few to no selfies. I may be too much of a photography purist since I first learned photography through film but I generally prefer to get my shot down in camera/phone and do as little editing as possible. Or maybe I’m just lazy LOL ;p

  11. I love the Foodie app too! Their filters are so pretty!

Meitu is my favourite, I’ve been using it since I was 13 or 14, some Chinese girl used it on Instagram (back then Instagram wasn’t blocked in China) and even if I didn’t know Chinese and the app wasn’t popular outside I used it a lot. Nowadays I still use it, Meitu always had great UX so I guess that’s why I was able to use Chinese language version. I used Foodie for some time, also April is a nice app that reminds me a bit of Foodie. Ulike is a new app for me :)

  14. SOVS would be heaven sent for my husband aka peronal photographer! And thank you so much for all these suggestions, Jenny. I edit all my pictures with IG inhouse features….and I wonder why my pictures are terrible. LOL!
