OOTD: Little Miss Sunshine

I’m really getting into posting up outfits of the day again, though I really should enlist the help of my fiance in taking the photos – DSLR cameras are heavy, and these mirror shots make me feel like a newbie.

Weekends are pretty much the only time I get to dress up, as my office attire is as casual as it can get and I’d rather snooze then spend the time putting together an outfit D:

Saturday outfits depends on the outing and can range anything from super casual (but still much cuter than what I’d wear to work) to super dressy. However, church on Sunday mornings usually dictates something dressy and lady-like :)

It's an art learning how to tie the bow on the blouse

Still learning how to tie the bow on the blouse

  • Rocking the gold toned jewelries again – love my pieces from Forever 21 and BaubleBox!
  • The neckline, color, and overall style of this pussy bow blouse makes it feel very Parisian, no? :)

LOVE yellow bags for the summer time; it really is the perfect summer color! It’s a shame LV discontinued their Epi Leather Speedy line, though you can still find some amazing vintage ones on Ebay, which is where I scored mine.

Since this bag is very minimal in terms of color and style – adding a scarf bow is the perfect way to dress it up (and you have an extra scarf in case you’re cold!). Depending on the outfit, I’ll switch up the scarves – it’s like playing dress up with my purse, haha.

  1. LOVE LOVE LOVE! The LV is of course is the stunner :D Love the color coordination that you did here :) Please do moe OOTD! Love the mirror too :D

    1. Thank you!! I’ll definitely do more OOTD posts – they seem to be the most popular type of posts on my blog!

For some reason, I did not expect the yellow LV purse to blend in as well as it did. Guess it’s one of those things where one has to see it before passing that judgement. The handmade scarf really added that finishing touch, as if serving as a bridge between the bright colors.

The part about you dressing up more when not working got my attention, actually. Then again, it’s only because a lot of folks I know who actually dress up more when working. Of course, it depends on the nature of their work versus that of yours, so it makes sense.

    1. I’ve been experimenting a lot of color lately, and I realized that colors that look difficult wear can actually end up matching really well – it’s all about the combinations :)

I guess it really depends on where you work. Most workplaces require at least business casual, so I can see people trying to dress up every day. I work for a small software/web development company, and unless we have clients over, we’re all in our flip flops and jeans :P

I recommend getting a remote trigger for your camera! That’s how I take photos of myself using my DSLR :)

I really love your outfit! I feel like it’s both cute and elegant :D The top is my favorite part of it, and the scarf was a nice addition to the purse. I think yellow is a great color for summer too!

    1. I tried looking for a remote a year ago but apparently my model doesn’t support wireless remotes :( I have a wired one, but the line is nowhere long enough for taking a full body shot.

  4. Melissa says:

I just really love your outfit! You look so beautiful! :) I still love the way you mix everything together. Especially when it comes to the colors!

Why not use a smaller camera for shooting photos?

    1. Thanks! My smaller camera is a regular digital camera and the quality of the photos just can’t compare with the DSLR.

OH MY OH MY; haha i’m excited like an idiot because i found someone who’s gonna debut in outfit post, not saying you’re bad. just that i feel somewhat odd photographing so much of myself, and i’m glad that someone i “know” is doing the same thing gives a little more motivation :D

you totally look parisian with those bowy touches in my opinion! the hunt for job as a graduate is tough i wonder when i’d start thinking about workwear -.- Epi Speedy is lovely!! Louis Vuitton just launched Neverfull in Epi with many colors ;D Maybe Epi Speedy will be back soon?

    1. Haha, I do feel really awkward photographing myself, but even more so having my fiance take the pictures =w= Maybe I’ll get used to it after a while??

Ooo, I really hope they bring back the Epi Speedy – though I doubt I’ll be purchasing one for retail price anytime soon =w=

  6. You look great! I’m the same way — work calls for casual, unless a client is coming in. (In which case I have fun with it, as you do!) I like your style… Simple and classic!

That purse is so lovely, I really like that yellow color. :) Matches your jewelry! Now I want one, but I can’t afford it. Hahaha. (cry)

    1. Thank you! I actually got my purse off Ebay and paid 1/5th of the retail price because it was vintage (I think it’s a 94 or 98 purse), so it was pretty affordable (relatively speaking).

Just make sure the seller is reputable and have it authenticated at a place like purseforum if you ever decide to buy anything brandname from ebay!

I agree that dslrs are heavy ugh.. I really want a MILC that is smaller and more compact so I can spare my dslr just for bigger and heavier shots but ah, I’ll get myself butchered for sure :P parents don’t understand photography and photography enthusiast kids so they will definitely scold me because they think i have too many wants -__-;; they think a photographer only survives with ONE camera (be it type or size) and only ONE lens. wow. =__=… my shoulder tends to suffer whenever i bring my dslr even if it’s just for taking pictures of food! ugh…but yeah, can’t be helped… :s I’m too scared to say out loud what i need hah.. afraid of getting yelled at :P

Love your bag, by the way :) i like the simple color because normally, LV bags tend to have overloading “LV” logo printed on em haha.. the red scarf is a good addition to the bag too :) yellow-red are definitely friends with each other~

P.S: same ol shiki, only changed my nickname to fit closer to my real name :P

    1. You take such great photos, and you seem to be really passionate about it too, so I can definitely see the justification in you buying a smaller camera :) I thought about doing the same myself, but really all I take are photos of my cats, haha

I’m personally not a fan of the traditional LV print, not because it’s ugly but because there are WAY TOO MANY fakes in those patterns -__-

      1. Alice says:

haha so what if 90% of your shots are cats :P in fact, it’d be fun to see if you take pictures of cats showcasing the different reaction/expression they have :) a great shot is a great shot, i believe haha so i don’t mind if the subject stays constant.. and thank you for saying i take great photos TToTT it’s so embarrassing haha i’m generally bad at dealing with compliments… :s

yeahhh i get you 8D there are so manyyy fakes especially around asia like china or even here, indonesia haha them fakes are lowering the quality of the real LV :P

  8. Thanks! They now make more compact cameras that have comparable qualities to DSLR. I think the MILC that @hinoshiki:disqus mentioned are worth looking into :)

At first I thought you were posting a work outfit, aha. Lucky you to work in a casual office. I have to dress business casual and most of my clothes don’t fit in that category!

I went to church for the first time last weekend and nobody was dressed as elegant as you. Some people were wearing jeans shorts. I was wearing shorts because I had to save my dresses & skirts for work, but at least they were black and formal-ish.

I don’t think your selcas are that bad. How is your house so bright?! I only ever took one outfit photo a few posts ago (you saw that one I think) and it was terrible because my house is so dark. I couldn’t be bothered finding a bright spot and setting up my tripod.

Ha, playing dressup with your purse. That’s cute!

    1. I think it depends on the church – our church has people who are really dressed up and those who are really casual, so I go either way, depending on my mood :P

It’s actually pretty dark in that room where I took the photos, but I made sure to adjust the ISO and I did some post-editing later.
